Description

Cypio200™
Testosterone Cypionate
200 mg/ml.

Description: Testosterone cypionate is an androgen and anabolic steroid (AAS) medication which is used mainly in the treatment of low testosterone levels in men. It is also used in hormone therapy for transgender men, and it is given by injection into muscle or subcutaneously, once every one to four weeks, depending on clinical indication. Testosterone cypionate was introduced for medical use in 1951 and, along with others, it is one of the most commonly used testosterone esters.

Medical uses: Testosterone cypionate has strong androgenic effects and moderate anabolic effects, which make it useful for producing masculinization and suitable for androgen replacement therapy. Testosterone cypionate is used primarily in androgen replacement therapy and it is currently FDA approved for the treatment of primary or hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (either congenital or acquired).

Non-medical uses: Testosterone cypionate is used to improve physique and performance.

Contraindications: You should not be treated with this medicine if you are allergic to testosterone. Testosterone can increase your risk of heart attack, stroke, or death. Testosterone cypionate is not for use in women who are pregnant since this medicine can harm an unborn baby or cause birth defects.

Possible side effects: Side effects of testosterone cypionate include symptoms of masculinization like acne, increased hair growth, voice changes, and increased sexual desire.

Interactions: Androgens may increase sensitivity to oral anticoagulants. Dosage of the anticoagulant may require reduction in order to maintain satisfactory therapeutic hypoprothrombinemia. Concurrent administration of oxyphenbutazone and androgens may result in elevated serum levels of oxyphenbutazone. In diabetic patients, the metabolic effects of androgens may decrease blood glucose and, therefore, insulin requirements.

Pharmacology: Testosterone cypionate is a prodrug of testosterone and is an androgen and anabolic–androgenic steroid (AAS). That is, it is an agonist of the androgen receptor (AR). Endogenous androgens are responsible for normal growth and development of the male sex organs and for maintenance of secondary sex characteristics. Androgens are responsible for the growth spurt of adolescence and for eventual termination of linear growth, brought about by fusion of the epiphyseal growth centers.
